My Favorite Thing About Halloween . . .

Easily, hands down, my favorite thing about Halloween is getting to dress up my kids in fun costumes. I decided to make (or rather alter) a book this year (from Oriental trading) to add pictures of my kids in their costumes to each year. The album I used measures 6x8. I think it will be a fun Halloween decor/memory object in years to come! I have had this idea floating around in my head for awhile, and I think it turned out perfectly how I wanted it to. I tried to get this done for the Hanna Stamps Halloween 3D object challenge a couple weeks ago, but I was delayed, so here it is now -- better late than never!! I went through some photos I had saved and reprinted the years up until now, and added them to the book. The headings on the book (years and block letters) were printed on my printer, and while it was still wet I used clear embossing powder on it. It only hit certain spots though, creating a cool look. The other lettering is done using rub ons.

This project was also inkspired by the Our Creative Corner challenge from last week to use colored stitching on your project! I used black stitching on the cover and then inside, I used orange stitching around the edges of each page. I really liked how it added some continuity to the book. Here are a few more views of the inside pages. I still need to add journaling to them and I am totally NOT a scrapper, but the simple pages hold my memories just the same. Hope you like it!!!

Stamps: Trick or Treat Mini (Hanna Stamps) Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Only Orange, Making Memories: {Brocade Orange Spellbound} double sided paper Accessories: orange thread, black thread, sewing machine, printer and ink, clear embossing powder, assorted black and orange ribbons from my stash, 6x8 album from Oriental Trading, red line adhesive tape (used all over to make it permanent hold and super durable and strong), Minimarks Rub Ons.

If you have not entered my 500th Post Celebration Blog Candy drawing, don't forget to do that before you go! Winner will be chosen this Friday at noon AZ time! I am off to clean off my desk . . . the house elves haven't been doing their job again *sigh*
