CHA - Craft & Hobby Association Convention 2009

My very first CHA was a fabulous experience. I had lots of fun just spending a day browsing around. Such beautiful EYE CANDY! I totally want to go again next year. I made lots of stops along my way while browsing and managed to remember to take a couple pictures along the way. Hopefully I credited the right company in each of these pictures.

A Visit to *Wooky Entertainment*

Here is me and the new baby meeting Paris Hilton. I got her to write her autograph to the baby. She was actually quite pleasant and kind and thought it was funny how the baby kept turning his head toward the camera flashes. I think we only waited in line a little over an hour and were about 12th or so in line. The security was really tight and it was kind of crazy. I had to go visit and meet her because it is pretty much a once in a lifetime experience -- I mean how often is Paris in the same venue as you???

Splitcoaststampers Cupcake Reception

I made it to the cupcake reception with the baby at about 8:30pm and was greeted by the familiar faces of Jenn Balcer and Daven. Jenn borrowed the baby for awhile so I could go mingle and it was SO FUN! I got to see so many people I had met at SoCal stamp mania and I got to meet lots of new people that I "know" from online. It was great!!! Love those gorgeous cupcakes and the elegant look of the whole reception. I am so glad I went.

My favorite part of the night was getting to meet the Hanna gals I did. I met Kristi and Vicki. Here is a picture of some of the other gals from the team: Diana, Adela, and Beth.

MAGNOLIA - Easter Tilda

I love new stamps . . . I know Easter is still quite a ways away, but this bunny just begged to be colored and it matched so well with the paper that I just had to make a card.

I used the Mojo Monday sketch (MOJO70) on the new Mojo Monday blog (Go Julee!) -- to make this fun Easter card. The close up image shows some of the glitter on the wings of Tilda. Hope you like her!

SPIRAL WHISPER - Emily With Cake

I got new rubber yesterday (*YAY happy mail*) and I have been playing and coloring and having SO much fun! Okay, well actually mostly just stamping and coloring all these gorgeous images, but I will make them into cards at some point.

I made this card for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge (TECC51). She had such a great sketch, perfect for SO many images. I also took this opportunity to use some of the Amy Butler paper I picked up at JoAnn's the other day! I loved the pads, but waited till they were on 40% off and then got them. I am so happy I did, the colors are AWESOME! Have I ever mentioned how much I *heart* Amy Butler fabric/paper? Gorgeous stuff!

This is an image called "Emily With Cake" by Spiral Whisper designed by Kate Smith. This is a new company I just discovered recently while blurfing and I fell in love with this Emily character. The dress is glittered using diamond stickles as you can see more clearly in the close up shot. I also put stickles on the cupcake and clear glossy accents on the balloon she is holding. Ooh, and I stitched around the Emily image in white to hold the whole card together. I thought it needed something subtle and this was the perfect little addition.

Stamps: Emily With Cake (Spiral Whisper), Family Phrases (SU!) Paper: Amy Butler Sola Mat Pad (K&Company), Old Olive (SU!), Confetti Cream (SU!), Almost Amethyst (SU!), Chocolate Chip (SU!), Solar Crest White (Neenah) Ink: Onyx Black Versafine Accessories: brown gingham ribbon, pink gingham ribbon (SU!), buttons, word window punch (SU!), sewing machine, brown thread, brown brads (Heidi Swapp), glossy accents (Ranger), diamond stickles (Ranger), copic ciao markers

NEW SET FOR JANUARY -- Hay Hanna

So are you excited for the January stamps yet? I sure am! I hope you have headed over to Hanna Stamps and placed your order!! I am playing catch up with my card posting -- today's set is called "Hay Hanna" which has farm animals and the cutest country Hanna in her adorable cropped shorts (think Jessica Simpson in Beverly Hillbillies). This card was inspired by the sketch on the Card Positioning Systems Blog (Hi Tami *waves*). I loved CPS97!

Just Chicken In
Stamps: Hay Hanna (Hanna Stamps), Chicken In (Elzybells Art Stamps) Paper: Real Red (SU!), More Mustard (SU!), Basic Black (SU!), Solar Crest White (Neenah) Ink: Onyx Black Versafine Accessories: Clear embossing powder (SU!), Red Gingham ribbon (The Paper Studio - Hobby Lobby), Nestabilities (scalloped and plain circles), paper piercing tool, plastic canvas circle, sewing machine, white thread, white gel pen (Ranger), copic ciao markers

How Old??? Birthday card

The idea for this card was in my head as soon as I saw this cows eyes. He reminds me of the movie Bedtime Stories, not because his eyes are too big for him, but just the way they seemed to BUG OUT at me. Anyway, I thought they would look perfect with googlie eyes to make a funny card. The layout for this one came from Splitcoast -- Sketch Challenge 211.

Stamps: Hay Hana (Hanna Stamps), Snap Stamps - Tiny Casual (Karen Foster Designs) Paper: Classic Red Checks - Die Cuts With A View (DCWV), Basic Black (SU!), Solar Crest White (Neenah) Ink: Onyx Black Versafine Accessories: White grosgrain ribbon with black polka dots, 1 3/8 & 1 1/4 inch circle punches (SU!), googlie eyes, copic ciao markers, black thread, sewing machine, dimensionals (Jody's adhesive shares).

Bedazzling Hanna

This last card was inspired by this awesome paper. I was browsing in my local scrap store looking for something different to go with this farm set, and I saw this denim paper with flourishes and thought it was pretty and feminine and would be perfect for Hanna. As I was creating the card and adding flowers and gems I decided it looked like jeans that had met with the bedazzler, hence the name. Pink paper flowers were colored with copic ciao markers to match the color more perfectly.

Stamps: Hay Hanna (Hanna Stamps) Paper: Favorite Jeans (Flair Designs), Solar Crest White (Neenah), Pixie Pink (SU!) Ink: Onyx Black Versafine Accessories: Prima Paper Flowers (white, blue), Primula Petunia Paper Flowers (Bazzill Basics Paper), 1 3/ & 1 1/4 Circle punches (SU!), sewing machine, white thread, copic ciao markers, glue dots, Flat back crystals (Swarovski), clear embossing powder
